Plot Summary

The movie begins with Raja (Ajaz Khan), a wealthy businessman, who is bored of his lavish lifestyle and wants to find true love. He meets Rani (Nagma Khan), a simple and innocent girl, who works as a waitress at a coffee shop. Raja falls in love with Rani at first sight, and tries to woo her with his charm and money. Rani, however, is not impressed by Raja's wealth and status, and rejects his advances.

Raja does not give up on Rani, and follows her to her hometown, where he learns that she lives with her widowed mother and younger brother. Raja also discovers that Rani is engaged to Raju (Rajpal Yadav), a local goon, who has been blackmailing her family for money. Raja decides to save Rani from Raju, and pretends to be her long-lost cousin.

Raja manages to win the trust of Rani's family, and also exposes Raju's true colors. He also confesses his love to Rani, who reciprocates his feelings. However, their happiness is short-lived, as Raja's father (Anupam Kher), who is a powerful politician, arrives at the village with his men. He is furious to see his son in love with a poor girl, and orders him to leave her and return home.

Raja refuses to obey his father, and declares that he will marry Rani only. His father then kidnaps Rani and her family, and threatens to kill them if Raja does not comply. Raja decides to fight for his love, and confronts his father and his goons. He also reveals that he is not the real son of his father, but an orphan who was adopted by him for political gains.

Review and Rating

King - Dil Ka Raja is a typical Bollywood masala movie, that has all the elements of romance, comedy, drama, action, and music. The movie is a remake of a Telugu hit, but does not offer anything new or original to the audience. The movie relies heavily on the star power of Ajaz Khan, who plays the role of Raja with confidence and charisma. He delivers some witty dialogues and performs some impressive stunts in the movie. However, his acting skills are not very convincing or impressive.

Nagma Khan, who plays the role of Rani, is a newcomer in Bollywood. She looks beautiful and innocent in the movie, but does not have much scope to showcase her talent or potential. She mostly plays the damsel in distress, who needs to be rescued by Raja from various troubles. Her chemistry with Ajaz Khan is also not very appealing or believable.

The supporting cast of the movie includes some veteran actors like Anupam Kher, Rajpal Yadav, Johnny Lever, and Prem Chopra. They play their respective roles with ease and experience, but do not have much to do in the movie. They mostly provide some comic relief or some drama to the movie.

The direction of the movie is average, as it follows the same formula of a Bollywood romance. The movie does not have any twists or surprises in the plot, and is predictable from start to finish. The movie also has some loopholes and flaws in the script, which make it unrealistic and illogical at times.

The music of the movie is one of its highlights, as it has some memorable songs composed by R.D.Burman. The songs are well-sung by Mohammed Rafi, Asha Bhosle, and Manna Dey, who are legends in the field of music. The songs are also well-picturized on the screen, with some colorful costumes and locations.

The movie is a one-time watch for those who enjoy light-hearted entertainment and do not care much about logic or realism. The movie is suitable for family audiences, as it does not have any violence or vulgarity in it. The movie is rated 3 out of 5 stars by most critics and viewers.
